It’s all relative!

So about the nail polish hang-ups. I decided to go funky on my nails–and not just on the safer toe-nails. The finger tips. Ladies: my finger tips are turquoise!
My feeling is that if I am going to meet a client then neutrals it is. But for summertime, play time, and around the house why not dive in to the fun colors? Earlier I made the statement that since I’m over 30 I should probably avoid funky colors. I’ve swung my pendulum slightly toward the middle on this and though I still believe there’s a time and a place (when I want to be taken seriously), the fun colors are still OK for this thirty-something.
Thanks Ruth in the Desert!

You are welcome! I feel so influential!
Your nails are lovely. What a great summer color! My current favorite is Grass Slippers by Sally Hansen–a really fun lime green.
Ruth, I think that we fashion bloggers have to be “open” and not assume we’ve got it all figured out! Yet there’s that fine line between knowing thyself and being open to new things (in fashion or otherwise.) My mother told me early on that one should establish her style and stick with it. She was the Audrey Hepburn type and really didn’t sway much. I feel like a chameleon and hence I have only in my 30′s realized that I can’t stick to ONE thing lest I find myself bored or stuck in a rut.

I felt so proud. LOL
I agree with your thoughts on new things and knowing oneself. It’s fun to try new trends and see what works for you.
I like to wear at least a little green every day. That’s part of my own style.
Ruth~ I applaud first: your choice in color, length and second: pushing the envelope just enough to stay tactful yet making a personal statement! Brava! ~ Jami Lynn Michael
I´m so happy with ur page, i love summer color´s nail! are funny !
So today I attempted a smooth application of YELLOW nail polish. THREE times. Same brand as the lovely aforementioned turquoise but for some reason I couldn’t get it smooth. Either it is streaky or bubbly. But even when it’s on semi-decent looking I realized as I served my kids their veggies tonight that my finger nails look like CORN! I am doomed.
